KARMA YOGA-PATH TO PEACE AND HAPPINESS

"...You must know that by living together in a united way, anything may be achieved in this world. People in this area must become united to progress. There is great power in union. If there is unity and love among you, then only can you lead a peaceful and happy life. "We must work unitedly. We must all work together to complete our task. In this way, all work becomes easy. Through division of opinions, great kingdoms and many city states were ruined in the past; but by living in unity, ruined kingdoms have received new life. On this auspicious day, everybody should take a vow to work together in this life.

"Try to develop your villages. There is a Sanskrit proverb which says that in the Kali Yuga there is power only through organized groups. We must be of firm determination to progress. Then only success is certain. Modern man has even traveled in space; he has been to the moon and intends to visit other planets; but people in this area are where they were - they have made no progress. Now here we should make efforts to progress, as well. As in these modern times, science and technology have advanced, so we, too, should strive to advance in every way.

NASSIM HARAMEIN--AMAZING CROP CIRCLE INFO

Are you familiar with Nassim Haramein? This guy blows me away with his unified field theory! Here is an amazing segment of an 8 hour lecture where he shows pictures of crop circles and unbelievable information that I had never heard of before!!!

He theorizes that these crop circles are indeed communication form extraterrestrials and the ones he shows are incredible! He says that if ETs were trying to contact us though other means - like a radio signal - it would not get to the general public. That is why they make the crop circles.

ARE WE MASTERS OF TIME?

We live in an age where massive amounts of money are spent for research into the brain and almost nothing into researching the mind. This represents a huge demotion. In prior centuries the mind was exalted. It was the mind that perceived beauty, experienced love, and reached for God. Can the brain really do all those things on its own? Neuroscience says yes, but that's a leap of faith. Why would a neuron have any interest in beauty, love, and God to begin with? Its whole life is spent exchanging chemical and electrical signals with other neurons. On the fringes of speculative thinking, the mind is coming back into its own.

Instead of trying to rehabilitate the mind, we think it's more fruitful, and far bolder, to put the mind at the very center of reality. Nothing exists except in your own awareness. If you can't see, hear, touch, taste, and smell a thing, if you can't even think about it, the thing cannot exist. Yet even without a world of things, consciousness does exist, and it has enormous untapped potential. That was proven decades ago when physicists discovered the observer effect. Technically, the observer effect applies to light. Light can act like a wave or a particle, but not both at the same time. It defies ordinary logic, but Einstein and his colleagues discovered that light "decides" whether to act like a wave or particle depending on the observer.

Until it is observed, light exists in suspended animation, so to speak. It doesn't take the form of particle or wave until an observer tries to measure it. After that, there's no turning back. Whatever the observer sees is reality. This implies that observation is a creative act, and quantum physics has lived with that fact for two generations or more. Only for ordinary people, the observer effect hasn't had much to do with their lives.

Or has it?

Children who are raised under a disapproving eye, who are made to feel bad, worthless, and unlovable, are very likely to grow up to feel that way permanently. Isn't a judgmental parent a kind of observer, creating the very flaws he sees? On the other hand, children raised under a loving eye have a far greater chance of loving themselves and developing the good qualities seen in them. You can come up with many examples of how the observer effect might influence daily life.

But what if we are missing the forest for the trees? What if consciousness is creating much more than we suppose. It could be creating something as basic as time and space. At the quantum level, Nature isn't bound by either one. Not only is time relative, but certain phenomena travel faster than the speed of light, needing no time at all to cover billions of light years in distances. That, too, is well known in modern physics. But few thinkers have applied the same effect to the mind.

Here things get tricky. Let's say you are an observer. You watch an event unfold such as the action of light deciding whether to be a wave or a particle. Since your brain is composed of quantum interactions, it isn't a stable observer. Waves are watching waves, particles are observing particles. Which implies that your brain only "decides" to be a brain at the moment you perceive anything. This quirky notion drops us immediately into the quantum soup, where nothing is stable at all.

To get out of the soup, we need to know why time and space look so stable. I don't expect the room I'm sitting in to collapse a minute from now, and I don't expect my car to shoot off at the speed of light, even though photons and subatomic particles are the basis for my car and my room. The reason we have a stable sense of time and space isn't because they are "real," in the sense that time and space don't need an observer. They absolutely do, for without a mind, nothing exists but randomness and chaos at every level.

The mystery of how time and space become real is tied to the mystery of mind. Some cosmologists, looking at the evolution of the universe, can't tolerate randomness. They don't believe that the explosion of the Big Bang could create the complexity of DNA, any more than a hurricane blowing through a junkyard could create a 747 jetliner. It has been proposed that the visible universe is matched to our own minds. The events we observe that lead to our existence here on planet Earth are precisely the events that can be observed by the human mind. One can imagine life forms on other planets that see an entirely different universe, the one that led to their existence.

Calling an idea tricky doesn't make it absurd. This so-called "anthropic principle" rests upon an irrefutable basis: Nobody can observe anything that the mind isn't set up for. Silicone crystals may be vibrating in a language that sings and makes up poetry, but we have no means of eavesdropping since our minds can't conceive of minerals leading complex social and artistic lives. Now let's go a step further.

Instead of hogging the limelight by saying that the mind must be human, what if we posit that life is in charge of the universe? This was certainly true before the rise of science. The creation emanated from a living God, and since God was everywhere, life was everywhere. Science traditionally considered this a matter of faith rather than reason. They could point to atoms and molecules, amino acids and enzymes, proteins and primitive life forms, all the way from blue-green algae to human DNA. Isn't it obvious, they say, that life developed from non-life over billions of years?

Actually, no, The tracks of evolution are just that, footprints to show that something or someone has passed here. A radio playing Mozart is just such a footprint. It proves that Mozart once lived, but you can't tear apart the radio and find Mozart inside. You and I are the children of evolution, but only part of our evolution is visible; the rest, the most mysterious part, is invisible. Therein lies the answer to how we became masters of space and time.

HEART FOCUSED BREATHING TO REDUCE STRESS AND ANXIETY

Another tip from the Heart Math De-Stress kit!

Practice breathing while imagining your breath passing in and out through your heart area or the center of your chest. Envision yourself as taking a time out to refuel your system by breathing in an attitude of calm and balance (like breathing in an emotional tonic to take the rough edges off).

The key to making this exercise effective is to generate the true feeling of calm and balance. You can substitute calm and balance at times with breathing the feeling of appreciation or compassion (or whatever attitude you choose to breathe). This can be done in a quiet place or while walking, jogging, and even in a conversation once you get familiar with it. It’s very helpful for reducing anxiety, anger and mild depression.

Here is the short version of the above technique for quick reference:

1. Imagine the breath passing in and out through the heart or the center of the chest.

2. Breathe an attitude of calm or balance (or whatever positive feeling you choose) to help restore balance.

Heart-focused breathing is being taught by doctors, nurses and clinics throughout the world. It’s especially helpful during times of crisis or whenever you experience anger, anxiety or emotional overload. Heart-focused breathing exercises can help you shift stress-producing attitudes more quickly and reset your stress tolerance baseline.

I recommend that when your energy is low or you are feeling anxious you stop whatever you are doing, close your eyes, take a 3 minute break and do this technique. This is a very quick and effective centering practice.

DON’T ATTACH TO MAYA--DO WHAT YOUR HEART ADVISES
From Babaji's Emails... Jan. 18, 1999:

Observe the flow of emotions. Up and down. There is constant movement, change. Don't attach to the emotions of the moment. Attach to the real behind the movement. Observe the movement, watch the emotion disappear. A new one takes its place. This is maya. That which is temporary, changes frequently, is maya. Don't attach to maya. This is all temporary. The body, emotions, relationships, wealth, power, knowledge... always changing, temporary. Understand? "This body I am in is temporary. It too has emotions constantly changing. I observe the movement of thought from its creation to its destruction.

Now listen carefully. The movement of thought is time. Learn to observe thought and time becomes what it is. Maya. Created by thought, divided by thought. When the higher self observes, there is no movement, no time. There is the eternal now where the ground of being exists. The place of no-thing. This is where I, who am no-body, come out of. Do what your heart advises and all will be well.

The past three months have been just as much about learning as about teaching. It is really amazing how we can learn things, understand things, or know things. But every now and then, we seem to open to a deeper level of knowing, or click to a higher level of understanding. What a wonderful experience to suddenly “get” what we thought we already knew! Knowledge is replaced with knowing.

Thoughts can be Trouble Makers.

Most of our problems are caused by negative or distorted thinking, by irrational thoughts that are formed when we are in a negative emotional state. Thoughts that we form when we are emotionally upset tend to stay with us. They naturally influence or even control us on the subconscious or unconscious level—just as any memory does. In fact, thoughts that are formed and fueled with emotional intensity burn themselves even more deeply into our psyche.

Living in the world during these days is challenging enough. We don’t need to be creating unnecessary pressure, tension, stress, or suffering for ourselves or those we love. So observing and identifying, and canceling or releasing negative limiting distorted thoughts is the key, if your goal is to be free or to live in love, peace and joy.

Breathwork helps us to transcend our conditioned body-mind states. It leads us to a realization of a prior state, something beyond the egoic state. Conscious Breathing allows us to trigger and observe our psychological, emotional and behavioral habits and patterns. We uncover our blind spots, and we change unconscious reactions into loving responses. We breathe away blocks or negativity in spirit, mind and body. Everyone who practices it says that breathwork (energy breathing) brings surprising results and permanent benefits.

Breathwork produces so many changes on so many levels, that it can seem vague on one hand and exaggerated on the other, Everyone is unique, and so the benefits are unique. Yet, again and again, I see people using breathwork to destroy bad habits, to eliminate feelings of guilt and fear, and to end their susceptibility to various accidents, illnesses and diseases. I see people creating more love and peace and joy in their lives, more fun and freedom in their relationships. And I see people awakening to who they really are.

It is normal to feel doubt or skepticism when we hear another wild claim about some method or other. Growth and transformation always trigger fear and resistance. It is a natural part of the process. And so the way is to neither believe nor disbelieve. The best way is to taste, to touch, to test, to experiment, and to rely on clear and direct experience.

If we can breathe and relax through our fear or resistance, we can take some amazing leaps in evolution. We can change many things about ourselves and the world. I am seeing people end their own suffering and I am seeing them help others to do the same. At every new stop on the path, I see resistance and skepticism transform into natural enthusiasm and genuine celebration!

Easy to learn and hard to forget:
Everyone we meet is a mirror of something in us. It is no accident that we have met, that we have come together. Life doesn’t always show us what we’d like to see, but it always shows us what we need to look at!

Being honest is more important than telling the truth. Being grateful is more important than saying thank you. You can’t fool yourself or existence, because you are an integral and inseparable part of existence. It feels what you feel! The Life Skills/Healing Arts Program and the Breath Mastery Training will be ongoing at Baja Bio Sana from November to April. Students and teachers are always welcome.

BREATHING MEDITATION: HOW DOES IT HELP?

We experience stress every day in our lives. It doesn’t matter if we are at work or at home, with so many tasks to do and so many people to take care of, sometimes we forget to slow down and take care of ourselves.

Breathing meditation is extremely beneficial and is used by millions of people around the world to relieve the anxieties we face on an on-going basis. It is one of the most effective ways to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and improve the immune system, and has been used to help stop smoking as well as get rid of other bad habits. I have used breathing meditation as a way to counteract stress for many years. I found that it was when I didn’t meditate and exercise daily that I experienced my most extreme reactions to stress.

One of the benefits of breathing meditation is that it promotes an inner balance and feeling of well-being. It also revitalizes your mind and body. You don’t need much to practice meditation, just a quiet room. In your room you sit either on the floor or on a chair and begin the relaxation process by focusing on a sound of your own making, or an object. As you sit quietly, allow you mind to concentrate on your breathing pattern as you make your sound softly or focus on the object you’ve chosen.

Once you are relaxed, you will actually be listening to your breathing. As you pay attention to your breath, while you breathe in and exhale deeply, you will be able to slow down your breathing to the point where you are in a deep meditative state. After your meditative session you will feel renewed and your anxiety and stress will have dissipated.

Note that it takes a few sessions to get it down just right, but it is worth the effort. You’ll begin to receive significant relief from stress and anxiety on those days when you are being pulled in twenty different directions.

Here’s a key point. In order for breathing meditation to become a successful part of your life, it requires you to engage in this practice on a daily basis. Just like anything else, the more you practice, the better you will be able to reach the meditative state.

There are also some great exercises that incorporate breathing meditation into their practice, such as Yoga and Qigong. I practice both of these daily and I have found that they have an immediate and positive effect on my entire body as well as my mind.

One great thing about these breathing exercises is that you can utilize them at home, at work, in your car, or on a subway or bus. Let’s say you are driving home and are slowed down by some heavy traffic or an accident that keeps you stuck for an hour or more. Instead of worrying about how long it will take and getting all worked up, try using breathing meditation to stay calm. If stress begins to build at work you can also use meditative breathing either while sitting at your desk or, even better, at a quiet place where you can sit and meditate alone. The trick is to use it, because it does work.

No matter what you are doing during the course of your day, take ten minutes to meditate in order to relieve whatever stress or anxiety you are under. Just as you take care of others’ needs, it is important to concentrate on your own health as well.
